An easy, healthy spread that satisfies that urge for an appetizer.


1 cup pitted olives (combination of black, Kalamata and green)
2 cloves garlic
2 tbs capers, drained
2 tbs olive oil
2 tsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

No of Servings: 8     Preparation Time: 15 minutes


Place olives, garlic cloves, capers, olive oil and lemon juice in food processor. Process until olives are evenly chopped. Stop and scrape down sides of processor bowl. Add basil, and red pepper flakes. Process until desired consistency. Place in small serving dish. Garnish with extra capers. Serve with vegetables or whole grain pita chips or crackers.
